What is Reiki?

Reiki has been defined as Universal Life Force

As a system of healing, Reiki was rediscovered by Master Usui, a Buddhist monk, in late 1800s. The word Reiki is a Japanese term that Master Usui created in an attempt to label the healing energy system, the connecting link, or anchor, of energy from All That Is to the physical realm of humanity. It also means respect for all life.

Reiki empowers people to know that they no longer need to be victims of drifting unawareness, helpless magnets for whatever bug awaits them. Reiki helps to raise the awareness and become real force in healing. Reiki is not a religion, but  a healing connection.  It is stress relieving; a feeling of total mental and physical relaxation. Reiki only works for good!

This healing modality speeds up the healing processes.

What a Reiki treatment is and does?

1. Reiki balances and works on four levels of existence

a. physical: the body and the manifested pain or disease
b. emotional: what you are feeling
c. mental: what you are allowing yourself to think
d. spiritual: your capacity to love yourself and others

2. Reiki works on cause rather than the effect of disease

a. treats the disease rather than the symptoms
b. Reiki accelerates healing, which may cause some initial discomfort: you may heal at a faster rate
c. how does this feel?

    - you feel very relaxed as the energy flows through your body. Some even fall asleep
    - you may experience Reiki energy as colors or pure love
    - you may feel peaceful or emotional as old patterns surface

3. What do I do during a treatment; What should I expect?

a. take off your shoes, watch, and metal jewelry, disable cell phone/pager
b. you should relax and enjoy the treatment: however, talking or asking questions is an individual
    matter
c. allow your mind to release all thoughts & fears, so you can focus on the present
    experience; silence is suggested
d. a Reiki practitioner works with the chakras or areas of specific pain. There is no need for touching
where it might not be appreciated
e. a pillow is placed under your neck or knees if you want (this helps take pressure off the spine)
f.  a tissue is placed over your eyes, so you can focus inward
g. enjoy soft, relaxing music
h. you may experience a shift in consciousness - this is an important part of healing

After the treatment?

a. your aura is swept: front and back
b. some feel energized, others feel incredible peace
c. you might drink 8 glasses of pure water a day for minimum of 3 days. This flushes toxins out of
the system. Water is important to the body
d. according to the practitioner, you may be advised to schedule another appointment to maintain
    wellness
e. ask about absentee healing
f.  in the case of disease, you may wish to examine your lifestyle and make positive,
    healthful modifications

How long is the reiki treatment?

You can choose from a few possibilties:
a. 1 hour or an hour   and a half table treatment (suggested in the beginning sessions)
b. half an hour quick treatment (for continuing your healing depending on your progress)
c. 15 min quick boost (as a touch up between sessions if you can't make it to your full session)
Little Reiki is better than no Reiki
